Our goal is to assist residents with their desire
to delay nursing home admission as long as possible. To that end our nursing
staff has developed additional care levels for residents whose medical
condition requires more care than independent living but less care than our
nursing home offers.
We offer these care levels:
Level one, the Extra Care
Level, is begun when a resident requires routine standby assistance with
various daily living activities, which may include use of toilet facilities,
dressing and undressing, and general moving about.
Level two, the Extended Care
Level, is initiated when a resident requires routine assistance from our
staff beyond the standby level. This may include more in-depth assistance
with dressing and undressing, use of toilet facilities, hygiene needs,
transfers, and general moving about.
Level three, the Extensive
Hospice Level, is started when a resident has an end stage disease. We
coordinate a resident’s care with a certified hospice program of the
resident’s choice and the resident’s physician. All three entities are
involved in the care of the resident at this level.
Many residents require
additional care levels for only a short period of time and are then able to
resume their more independent lifestyles. Frequently residents receiving
Extra and Extended Care Levels are also receiving occupational, physical,
and speech therapy from our in-house therapy department.
Residents who eventually
require skilled nursing home services receive priority admission status in
our nursing home depending on bed availability. |
