November 14, 2011 Pine Haven Men’s Chorus Celebrates 60 Year Anniversary Men’s Chorus whose mission statement reads “Praising God in Support of the Pine Haven Christian Home”, is celebrating 60 years of singing and dedicated support. The Men’s Chorus began in 1951 with a quartet from each of Pine Haven’s supporting churches, raising monies to help Pine Haven carry through its mission of providing Christ-centered care. April 22, 2011 Pine Haven Christian Communities Welcomes Lori Albsmeier as Director of Human Resources The Board of Directors of Pine Haven Christian Communities and its CEO, Roger Leys have announced the appointment of Lori Albsmeier as Director of Human Resources. Previously with Aurora Health Care since 2000, she most recently held the position of Human Resources Manager at the Sheboygan Clinic and Aurora Pharmacies in Sheboygan County. Albsmeier is a graduate of Kohler High School and pursued her undergraduate degree in organizational communications at North Central College in Naperville, IL. She received her master’s degree in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis and certificate in Servant Leadership from Gonzaga University.. (read more...) Pine Haven Christian Communities Welcomes Chaplain and Dedicates Chapel Pine Haven Christian Communities dedicated its new chapel and introduced Rev. David J. Van Dixhorn as chaplain on December 8, 2010. Approximately 50 residents, staff and board members attended the dedication ceremony held in the new chapel. Pine Haven Christian Communities Appoints Senior Management: Pine Haven Christian Communities announced that the Board of Directors has appointed Roger Leys as its Chief Executive Officer. Leys, was initially appointed Interim Executive Director in November 2009. Also announced Cathy Kelling BSN, RN as its Chief Operating Officer/Administrator. Kelling obtained her State of Wisconsin License Credential to practice as a Nursing Home Administrator. (read more...) Lynnette Martineau has joined Pine Haven Christian Communities as Pine Haven Christian Home To Transition to All Private Rooms in Skilled Nursing Facility To enhance the quality of life for residents, the board of directors of Pine Haven Christian Home approved the transition of 22 semi-private rooms to private rooms. This change will assure Pine Haven maintains its excellent reputation and continues the tradition of quality care by reducing their nursing home beds from 71 to 49. (read more...) Pine Haven Announces Plans for Oostburg Assisted Living Apartment Complex The board of directors of Pine Haven Christian Communities announced plans for a 24 apartment assisted living development on the west side of Oostburg. Prairie Crossing Holds Open House On Saturday, June 22 over 500 guests had the first look at the Prairie Crossing apartment complex in Sheboygan Falls during the open house. Invited guests began arriving at 12:30 and were on hand for the dedication ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Addressing the group during the dedication were Jeff Jenkins, Administrator of Pine Haven Christian Home; Jan Scholke, Director of Prairie Crossing; Reverend Stan Seagren of Hope Reformed Church; Jim Waech, current Chairman of the Pine Haven Board of Directors; and Nancy Verstrate, Executive Director of Sheboygan Falls Chamber Main Street. Prairie Crossing Name Chosen for New Pine Haven Residential Center Apartment Complex Prairie Crossing, a Pine Haven Community, is the new name selected for the assisted living apartment complex currently under construction by Pine Haven. To assure this tradition continues and to communicate the overall commitment to quality, Pine Haven is participating in the “Quality First” initiative sponsored by the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA). Pine Haven Announces Plans to Build RCAC The board of directors of Pine Haven approved construction of a 40 unit residential care apartment complex (RCAC) on the north side of Sheboygan Falls on 56 acres purchased by the organization a year ago. The RCAC will provide individual apartments backed by supportive, personal and nursing services to residents offering a level of service that is a step above independent living but not as comprehensive as Pine Haven’s current assisted living facility. In this newly created position, Voight will review care plans for each resident as well as assist potential new residents and their families through the admission process. Pine Haven Christian Home Earns Highest Rating In Quality Assurance Surveys Pine Haven earned deficiency-free reviews in two separate surveys recently completed by the State of Wisconsin Bureau of Quality Assurance (BQA), as part of the Department of Health and Human Services. There are more than 1,500 regulations and standards that senior care facilities must meet for the surveys. (read more...) Pine Haven Begins New Tradition With Giving Tree Pine Haven Christian Home is starting a new holiday tradition to bring special joy to their residents and involve the public in seasonal celebrations with the residents. The Giving Tree, located in the front lobby, will feature ornaments that include a number and gift ideas that match with an individual Pine Haven resident. The theme for this year’s Giving Tree is “Light Up the Life of a Pine Haven Resident.” (read more...) Pine Haven Earns Medicare Certification to Accept New Residents After a Hospital Stay Pine Haven has been Medicare certified effective October 1, 2004. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), as part of the federal government’s Department of Health and Human Services, oversees the Medicare program and grants certification after an extensive application and detailed approval process.
