Pine Haven Announces Plans to
Build RCAC
Sheboygan Falls, WI
-- The board of directors of Pine Haven Christian Home approved construction
of a 40 unit residential care apartment complex (RCAC) on the north side of
Sheboygan Falls on 56 acres purchased by the organization a year ago. “This
is an exciting time for Pine Haven Christian Home as we move forward to
begin the development of a new campus” said Jeff Jenkins, administrator of
Pine Haven.
The RCAC will provide
individual apartments backed by supportive, personal and nursing services to
residents offering a level of service that is a step above independent
living but not as comprehensive as Pine Haven’s current assisted living
facility. “Most people want to stay in their own homes as long as possible.
The RCAC option allows residents to live as independently as they choose
with staff available to provide assistance and services only when needed,”
Jenkins said.
“The expectations and
demands of our residents will continue to change and we must respond to them
if we are to remain a successful provider of Christian senior housing. The
board will continue to look to the future to determine what facilities and
services Pine Haven will provide the community. Only conceptual plans exist,
beyond this first phase, for further development of the north campus because
the senior housing environment is rapidly changing and plans made today
could likely change by the time future phases are ready for development.
This first phase is being built with the future in mind and our existing
campus will also continue to be developed,” Jenkins said.
Hoffman Corporation, an
architectural and construction management firm based in Appleton, has
assisted Pine Haven in the initial planning and will continue with the
project through completion. “If all goes well we would like to begin
construction this summer with possible occupancy in the spring or summer of
2007,” said Jenkins.
Pine Haven Christian Home
was opened in 1950 and expanded in 1992 to the
current size of 71 residents
in the nursing home wing and 136 rooms in the residential
center wing. While supported
by eighteen local churches, residents of all faiths and backgrounds are
welcome. Pine Haven’s mission is to provide quality, compassionate care in a
Christian environment.
