Pine Haven Christian Home Participating

in National Quality Initiative

Sheboygan Falls, WI --  Pine Haven Christian Home has a reputation of providing compassionate, high quality care to its residents. To assure this tradition continues and to communicate the overall commitment to quality, Pine Haven is participating in the “Quality First” initiative sponsored by the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA).

AAHSA developed the Quality First initiative to encourage the highest standards of ethics, services, and resident care in its member institutions. Quality First is a voluntary commitment to establish and document performance standards in the areas of continuous quality improvement, public disclosure and accountability, consumer and family rights, workforce excellence, community involvement, ethical practices, and financial integrity.

“Pine Haven has always maintained the highest standards of resident care and ethical practice, the Quality First initiative provides us the opportunity to publicly go on record with our continuing commitment to do the right things in the right way,” said Jeff Jenkins, administrator of Pine Haven.

AAHSA is the national senior housing organization that represents not-for-profit nursing homes and senior housing providers. Wisconsin Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (WAHSA) has also encouraged its members to participate in the Quality First initiative. To date, 40% of the Wisconsin not-for-profit senior housing providers have signed the Quality First covenant.

Pine Haven Christian Home was opened in 1950 and expanded in 1992 to the

current size of 71 residents in the nursing home wing and 136 rooms in the residential

center wing. While supported by eighteen local churches, residents of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome. Pine Haven’s mission is to provide quality, compassionate care in a Christian environment.
