Pine Haven Christian Communities announced the addition of a new residential center manager for their Giddings Avenue campus, Steve Hendrikse.

Steve will have primary responsibility of social services and management of clinical staff for the traditional assisted living section of the Giddings Avenue campus. Previously the responsibility of social services on this campus was provided by Michelle LeMahieu, while management of clinical staff was previously provided by Michele Oostdyk, Pine Haven’s administrator and director of clinical services. “The addition of Hendrikse was absolutely necessary with Pine Haven’s growth and the expansion at our Haven Drive campus in north Sheboygan Falls,” said human resources director, Lori Albsmeier. “State requirements mandate that the administrator of a nursing home must spend 50% of her time working onsite. That means Michele will spend most of her time on our new Haven Drive campus. With Steve as full-time residential center manager, our residents will continue to receive the attention and care they deserve.”

Hendrikse’s abilities as a social worker will also allow LeMahieu to provide social services at our Pine Drive campus and at our Covenant Homes at both the Giddings Avenue and Haven Drive campuses. “Michelle has such a passion for serving our residents with dementia. Having her as the social worker for all of Covenant Home is a true blessing,” said Pine Haven CEO, Ron Walvoort.

Before coming to Pine Haven, Hendrikse was the director of services for TLC Homes, Inc. in Sheboygan, where he was responsible for the delivery of services to 125 residents and supervised all management staff. Previously he worked for Sheboygan County for 22 years as a long-term care supervisor, social worker, and adult protective services specialist. Steve has a bachelor’s degree in community recreation and business from Southern Illinois University and is certified as a social worker with the State of Wisconsin.

The new position will bring some additional staff responsibility changes. Marcia Adams, who was previously social worker at Prairie Crossing and at the Pine Drive campus will now provide social services solely on the Haven Drive campus, in the Prairie Crossing supported independent living apartments, and the assisted living households. She will also provide support to Kelly Rabe who will be social worker for the skilled nursing facility on the Haven Drive campus. Kelley Rodriguez will continue to provide clinical supervision on the Pine Drive campus and at the Prairie Crossing apartments on the Haven Drive campus.
