Jenkins Prairie Crossing Name Chosen for New Pine Haven Residential Center Apartment Complex Sheboygan Falls, WI -- Prairie Crossing, a Pine Haven Community, is the new name selected for the assisted living apartment complex currently under construction by Pine Haven. The name was submitted by former board member, Marilyn Buteyn, along with over 100 suggestions from residents, employees, and members of the eighteen churches sponsoring Pine Haven. “Prairie Crossing has a nostalgic air about it and embraces the natural setting we will maintain with the new development,” says Jeff Jenkins, Administrator of Pine Haven. “There were so many great suggestions, but everyone gravitated to this one as best representing a comfortable home. We wanted to communicate association with Pine Haven since the community recognizes our Christian heritage, however, we want to emphasize that Prairie Crossing is an apartment development for assisted, active living; and not a nursing home.” To recognize the selection of the name recommended by Buteyn, there will be a commemorative plaque located next to a tree planted in her honor on the grounds at Prairie Crossing. Construction is progressing on schedule for the apartment complex with the majority of the concrete work complete, the overall structure well underway, and the pond dug. Target is for the entire complex to be enclosed by the end of November. Prairie Crossing, a 40-unit assisted living apartment complex in a senior community, is targeted to open in mid 2007. Four apartment sizes ranging from 542 to 960 square feet will be available and each include a full kitchen and European design shower in the bathroom.
