This year our annual appeal had a goal of $43,000 for a new nurse call system. Each resident room now has new in-wall equipment complete with a wireless remote device that allows them to communicate with the nursing staff. The entire system is computer based and records calls made, response time, and other details so we can continuously monitor that the highest level of care is being provided to each resident.  The new system also allows our nurses to recognize and provide care to each resident more quickly. When compared to our current loudspeaker paging system, this new system is much quieter and means residents aren’t interrupted when announcements are made.
