Our 2005 campaign raised funds to purchase the Pine Haven bus. Since we
began the new service in June of 2006, our residents have taken many
hundreds of trips to doctor and dentist appointments alone. Previously
residents had to rely on family members or friends and had to adjust
their schedule to allow for transportation. The bus gives our residents
a renewed sense of independence. The bus also transports residents on
sight-seeing trips in and around Sheboygan county, to concerts and other
entertainment, and to church services.
The
day-to-day living of our residential center residents was enhanced with
the makeover the lounge received courtesy of funds raised by the Pine
Haven Men’s Chorus concert tour. Fresh paint, curtains, carpet, and
furniture make the area a great place to socialize, relax and read a
book, and entertain family and friends.
To turn an ordinary day into
something special we offer activities like an old fashion ice cream
social. The residents come out in full force to enjoy special food or
entertainment at these events. Your support means the world to their
enjoyment.
